IMPACT VOLUNTEERS' COORDINATOR

(Part-Time, To be based in QC)

The job calls for a highly relational individual who will be tasked to coordinate the placement of foreign volunteers to agencies and project sites in the country. The person must have the desire to grow in this position as a vocation, with above average skills in spoken and written English, and can allot 3 days work week in office and field work setting. Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Being the link between the volunteer coordinator in Denmark and the volunteer receiving projects in the network of PCMN.

    • Responsible for the practicalities concerning the volunteers upon arrival and departure; pick up in the airport and booking of accommodation in Manila.

    • Making agreements with the receiving projects about arrival.

    • Designate new potential volunteer receiving projects.

 

  • Coordinate and conduct Academy modules with the following objectives:

    •  Preparation
      Impact Academy aims at giving participants knowledge and skills, preparing them for their volunteer placement. This entails acquiring the right preconditions to be able to work with children-and-youth-at-risk.

    • Learning & Formation

Impact Academy teaching sessions aim at equipping participants with knowledge about the human rights of children and youth, poverty and inequality, and the role of civil society, in order to give them an understanding of different issues of and approaches to development.

  • Mobilization & Personal Commitment
    Impact Academy aims at promoting participants’ personal reflection about issues of development and inspire them to a long-term commitment in favor of children-and-youth-at-risk and working to improve conditions for children-and-youth-at-risk even after the volunteer placement. 

 

  • Monthly contact to the volunteers during their placement to make sure they are settling in.

 

  • Conduct evaluation with the project after each placement and debrief with the volunteers.

 

  • Contact person in case of emergency.

 

  • Make budget and financial accounting for the Academy modules.

 

  • Monthly contact to the volunteers throughout their placement to make sure they are settling in and pay a visit at the project within the first month.
